GiG Amateau
Welcome, my readers!
What have you been up to lately?
I've been polishing up my next horse book (Macadoo of the Maury River, Candlewick Press, Spring 2011) and writing something really different for me – a young adult historical fiction novel (Candlewick Press, Fall 2011) set in Richmond, Virginia in 1800. I'll tell you more about that soon ...
We also have brought a redbone coonhound puppy into our family! Her name is Biscuit and she really helps all of us recover from this summer's loss of our good old best dog, Blackberry. Like Blackberry, Biscuit loves the river and the farm and going for walks. I'm hoping that one of these days she'll also like to nap under my desk and let me tuck my feet under her while I write.

BUT, the number one question I get asked wherever I go is "How is Albert?"
Hmmm. Albert is: spoiled, funny, well-fed, pretty, reliable, super-smart, and VERY forgiving of me being out of town and on the run so much this past year. That horse is just great – healthy and happy! I tell him every time I meet Chancey readers; I think he likes hearing about all of you and your love of horses!
